Beth Bates: Hi, I am Beth Bates and I am with the company SewTeacher. Today I am showing you how to make a custom Christmas tree skirt. Right now, we are at the step where we need to sew together the slit and the inner circle. I have measured out from my needle, out a half an inch and I place this sticky to help guide me. Okay, my skirt right down here on the end and of course, I am going to sew all maybe a half an inch and then back-tack.

Notice, how I gently pull, just so I do not get tuckering and carefully pull out the pins as I go along. Okay, now, I am getting to the end and going to ready to start the inner circle. I am going to sew, use my hands on the wheel about a half an inch, stop, I lift up my foot, turn the fabric like so. I am going to sew around the inner circle.

Okay, now that I am coming to the end of the inner circle, I am going through the same thing. I get about a half an inch, make sure my needle is down, I will lift up the foot, to turn it, pivot it and begin sewing half way down, this side at the opening and again back-tack.

Okay, our next step is to take it back to the table and turn it inside out.
