Beth Bates: Hi, I am Beth Bates from SewTeacher. I am showing you how to make a custom Christmas tree skirt. We are almost finished, the last thing we need to do is to sew up the opening that we use to pull the skirt inside out. Now for this, I am going to sew right on the lining. So my top thread is going to be white, in my bobbin, I am going to use green, which is the same color as my face fabric, that way the colors will be match appropriately.
Okay, I am taking my green, putting it in. Alright, I am aligning it up and this time I want to sew as close to the edge as possible, getting the white lining in the face fabric. So I am placing my fabric in, now because if you are like me and you have trim within the seam, this maybe kind of thick.
So, I am actually going to do the first couple stitches manually turning the wheel. At times that helps, going all the way up, you can go as close to the edge as you can, pulling the pins out as you go and once again back-tack and we are finished. The last and final step is to put it around your Christmas Tree. I hope you have enjoyed this video and I hope you found it informative. Happy holidays.
