Host: How are services provided for special education?

Rene Hackney: Services are provided for special education students in a wide variety of ways. There are many children today who are mainstreamed, who receive their special education services in the regular education classroom. They have teachers, special education teachers coming into the regular classroom and helping them to function in that space. There are also pull out programs, where children are pulled out of regular education and may go to regular education most of the day, but are pulled are for special services once or twice up to five times a week. There are also self inclosed classrooms where the children go for services for half of the day or for a whole day with just special education teachers and services.
