Host: What should parents consider when looking for toys on eBay or at Yard Sales?
Rene Hackney: If parents are purchasing toys, used toys through Yard Sales or through eBay, it is also important to know that the safety regulations have changed overtime. One of the things that has changed was toy boxes when I was young, toy boxes with slam closed and the part of the game I remember was trying to see if you could get your fingers out on time before it slammed. They have since changed, toy boxes are much safer these days, they open slowly, they large open and they don t fall back down. So, the idea is if you are buying a used or an older one, you want to sure that it is a safe fit that it's not slamming down so hard. But those examples are numerous when you buy used products for babies, the crib regulations have changed. So, it is really knowing what those regulations are and being sure that the used products you buy meet them.
