Host: What are other considerations for toy safety?

Rene Hackney: Another thing to consider with toy safety is that many of the emergency room accidents that happen are because people fall over toys, or fall onto toys. So, the idea of keeping children and family safe is to clean up your toys. Keep them in safe places, stored in safe places. It's also important to think about the weight of a toy, there are many young children who get hurt because they pull a toy down on themselves. So, if something is too heavy or too big you don t want to place it up above the child s reach but rather on the floor where they can play with it safely.
