Host: What does the latest research show concerning obesity rates?
Dr. William McCarthy: Obesity rates are soaring. This year, the rate was released by the CDC and it showed there maybe a little leveling off. However, I am not too confident at this leveling off is something that we are going to see because we really haven t made great inroads into the treatment of obesity. We are seeing obesity rates continue to climb, not just in United States, not just in Europe, but even in underdeveloped countries. It's now a problem fast re-passing malnourishment and infectious disease. If something is not done, we are going to have a worldwide crisis caused by the effects of obesity.
