Host: Do I have to give a gift for both the Wedding shower and the Wedding?

Nancy Mitchell: You should plan on giving a gift if you are invited to both a bridal shower and the wedding. The only exception to that rule is if you can t attend one or the other you don t need to send or present a gift.

If you are very, very close to the couple however and you received a wedding invitation you will be probably send the gift in some way, shape or form. But the rule of thumb is if you can t attend the event you normally do not have to present the gift.
