Host: When I must give a baby gift?

Nancy Mitchell: The only time that you are truly obligated to give a baby gift is if you go to a baby shower. If you receive an announcement after the baby is born you are not obligated to give a baby gift.

However if you are relative, you are very closed friend you will want to give something that celebrates with the couples birth of their child. So, don t feel as if it's an obligation feel that s it's an opportunity to share your affection, your friendship, your love with people who are having a wonderful occasion in their together.

Then decide based on your friendship what the gift would be.
