Hi, I am Chris Kelly with Mie N Yu restaurant in Georgetown in Washington D.

C. Today, I am showing you how to make modern mixed drink. Our next drink is called Dancing Shiva, it is sort of a twist between a Mint Julep and a Perfect Manhattan. We are making it with Bullet Bourbon whisky. Interesting story, Tom Bullet whose grandfather had the original recipe, the recipe was lost. Tom Bullet attended Georgetown, discovered his grandfather s recipe and has revived the brand. It is a good dry bourbon whisky with a high rye content. When Tom Bullet himself came into the restaurant here and tried the drink, he said it was one of the best bullet drinks he has had.

So, we are going to start with a fresh slice of orange, a couple of sprigs of fresh mint, just a few drops of a simple syrup. Simple syrup is the water and sugar boiled down until it gets to syrupy consistency. We are also going to use a few dashes of Angostura Bitters. We have got no ice in the shaker yet. We are muddling all these ingredients to melt the mint and the orange flavors together. Next, we are going to add the ice and our bullet whisky about two ounces and we are going to use about an ounce each of sweet and dry vermouth, we are using Cinzano, but any brand will do and shake these all together into a chilled martini glass it goes, little bits of the orange and mint should come out as you strain this drink that adds to the appeal. We are going to fill the orange twist on there as well for garnish.

So, here we have the Dancing Shiva. Next, I ll be showing you how to make the Samurai which is a sake and gin martini.
