Jaclyn Gobuluk: We absolutely recommend a trial period with each and every nanny candidate before hiring that potential nanny to work for your family on a permanent basis. What that means is a trial basis could be one to five days. Usually, within the first one to three days you will want to be home and present during the nanny and child interaction. Just so you can get a personal in-depth view of how they work well together and if she is following the guidelines that you have laid out for her.

The trial period is a great benefit to hiring a nanny because if it is not going to work out you know within the first few days and you do not have to go weeks on end to find out of the nanny is a good fit.
