Host: Should I hire the nanny for a trial period before hiring full time?
Jaclyn Gobuluk: We absolutely recommend a trial period with each and every nanny candidate before hiring that potential nanny to work for your family on a permanent basis. What that means is a trial basis could be one to five days. Usually, within the first one to three days you will want to be home and present during the nanny and child interaction. Just so you can get a personal in-depth view of how they work well together and if she is following the guidelines that you have laid out for her.
The trial period is a great benefit to hiring a nanny because if it is not going to work out you know within the first few days and you do not have to go weeks on end to find out of the nanny is a good fit.
So, trial period is definitely a very important part for offering a nanny a final contract agreement to work for your family and it can last a few days, one day up to five days. You will be required to pay the nanny for their time spent with your child but it is a good indication of whether that nanny is going to be a good fit with your child and your family.
