Judith has worked in the field of mental health and substance abuse since 1988, She received her Masters in Social Work from Virginia Commonweatlh University in 1991 and was licensed as a clinical social worker in 1994. In her private practice, Judith sees adults, families, children and adolescents, and couples. She addresses such issues as substance abuse, depession, anxiety, family discord, couple conflict, poor school performance, and life transitions. Judith believes that within each individual, family, and couple are the resources to change, heal, and thrive. Through the process of psychotherapy, she assists clients to identify and use these resources to gain personal and relational well-being.

Cousins: Yeah, there are rules about drinking, not so much in the sense of don t drink -- drink or don t drink or drink at 8 o clock or not at 8 o clock, but there are rules in the sense culture sets up rules, society sets up rules and family set up rules. Rules for example are, you drink in our society for instance, you drink only when you reach age 21.

Cousins: Yeah, there are rules about drinking, not so much in the sense of don t drink -- drink or don t drink or drink at 8 o clock or not at 8 o clock, but there are rules in the sense culture sets up rules, society sets up rules and family set up rules. Rules for example are, you drink in our society for instance, you drink only when you reach age 21. However, there are informal rules which state that, well if you are going out with your boys and you are 18 or 19 years old and you maybe drinking at a party. So, there are informal rules and more formal rules. There are rules about when to drink. For instance, drinking at a wedding is acceptable. Drinking at a wedding is expected for a lot of people. Drinking at 8 o clock in the morning isn t.
So, we know there are rules and family set up those rules and society sets up those rules and cultures sets up those rules.
