Host: Are there unconventional method to achieve my goal?

Gary Ryan Blair: So, there are some unconventional methods or behaviors we could use in order to achieve our illusions, yes. Most of the time, we have a tendency of thinking that desire, that we have to have compelling reasons that are positive, nutritious and virtuous and while those are well and good and those are the best ways with which to be able to do this.

We have to look at it and understand human nature as it is, that if the desire was strong enough, if people really wanted to create change in their lives, if they were passion about it that change would have already taken place. So now, what it comes to is how do you get somebody to take change to enforce change in their life and make a successful resolution, if it's not going to driven by desire, by passion. We have to go to the very extreme, we have to go to anger and when you look at anger, most of us will look at anger and think it is negative that it is a bad emotion, but it's not.

All anger is -- it s energy. There is good anger and bad anger and what you ll find is that very often many of the greatest causes and greatest things had ever been achieved in this world with result of someone getting angry example, if you look at the Rosa Parks, if you look at Martin Luther king, If you look at Gandhi, if you look at so, many different things Mothers Against Drunk Driving, The Brady Bill, you look at Adam Walter s father gentleman on television that we see for America s Most Wanted.

These were not passions in fuels if you were driven by people that were in a good mood that they were violated, they were taken advantages of, they really got the short end of the stick and rather than with that anger consume them, they decided to use it purposefully. Well, the same principle applies here that will come up point in time who are someone, who is obese and I mean extremely obese, will look in the mirror and he ll fondly say to themselves I am done, I am so, angry I am so, ticked off myself and so, ashamed at my own capacity that I have allowed this type of lifestyle to continue that will be the switch that will be flipped.

The same thing is true when it comes to smoking when it comes to just about anything is the people who ll finally get tired and angry of waking up and hacking into a garbage can every morning, not being able to breath and walk up of flight stairs, they will be embarrassed, they can throw a football with their child or something like that and that will spur them on to take action. So, we should never look at anger and just associated it with being bad just look it as it his energy that needs a direction and that s a very important way we would wish to go about it.

Another one is this is at people have to rendezvous with reality and for some it needs to be rough give you an example, the last thing that in alcoholic like everyone s wants to deal with is reality and the last thing a gambler wants to deal with is reality, for last thing if someone in a bad relationship ever wants to deal with is reality. We are talking about the truth. It's to go although so far to say this, the last thing that a criminal who is in an interrogation where even the police officer wants to face is reality, is to acknowledge the truth that they committed this crime, that they are criminal.

As it relates to resolutions, what people need to do is they need to have a rendezvous with reality. They need to have an honest, open, transparent, conversation with themselves and say, what am I made of, am I just spending my life making excuses. Am I demonstrating cowardliness, or am I demonstrating courageous behavior? My behavior does it demonstrate someone who takes responsibility or someone who makes excuses and we take the time to go and analyze our own behavior, we don t need a counselor to be able to do this. As long as we are honest with ourselves and we ve got to be willing to go, where perhaps we probably haven t gone before that will spur a tremendous sense of dissatisfaction in the choices, in the decisions, in the quality of our own character that that in itself, will inspire people to take action and in my opinion that s all good. It's all good because the end benefit where it takes you is glorious and that s truly where people should aim for.
