Hi, I am Lindsey Lampert with Northern Virginia Volleyball Association and today I am showing you how to play volleyball. Right now, I am going to show you how to serve. Serving is probably the most important skill when it comes to volleyball. If a team can not serve over the net, a team can not win. The first thing I am going to show you is proper foot positioning, you are going to start with your right foot, in front of your left foot and let your left hand in, and start with your left foot in front of your right foot. The second part of the serve is the toss. You want the toss to go in front of you. If you would let your toss fall, it should land right in front of your foot that s facing forward, which is your right foot, in our case. The second thing is you are going to have your left arm out holding the ball and your right arm is going to be on top of the ball. Your arm is going to come back into a arrow position, bow and arrow position. Lindsey and Nicole will now show you what a proper server looks like. Now, we are going to show you how to pepper.
