Hi, my name is Marilyn Regier and I am the Executive Director of The Barker Foundation. The Barker Foundation was founded in 1945 and is a licensed, non-profit child placing agency that works in the District of Columbia and in the States of Maryland and Virginia. We serve all members of the adoption family including birth parents, adoptive parents and the adopted person. Today, we are going to walk you through the steps of how to adopt, starting with the kinds of research you will do all the way until you make your choice of program and bring your child home. I will be joined by a number of my colleagues at The Barker Foundation as we talk about how to adopt. So, let us get started.
