Ted Walsh: So, now lets talk about where to wax your skis.

In the sky shop, its pretty simple for me to put skis down on the bench and not worry about where the wax goes, but in your home, youre going to want to concern yourself with it because once wax gets into carpet, its very difficult to come out. So, for starters, lets not wax on carpets without lining them first with plastic or towels or something to prevent the wax from embedding itself in your furniture.

Second, its good to wax outside in general, that way you dont get things on your furniture, if you can find an outlet source or have an extension cord or something like that, Id recommend doing that, a garage is a perfect place to wax your skis.

Also, youre going to need some sort of bench or chair structure to hold your skis up and you can buy specially benches for skis that work as a vise and clamp your skis down and they hold everything up for you and make it easy to put all wax and scrape it right off. Another way to do this is just simply putting two chairs together, or a cooler and a chair or benches, you can get creative, but it really doesnt make a difference, so long as can put wax on the ski and have something sturdy enough to where you can take the wax right off the ski.
