Tu-Anh: Hi, I am Tu-Anh I am going to show how to draw fashion for beginners. Now, I am going to show you first, how to trace the fashion figure. What you should already have, I assume, is a magazine clip out of the fashion figure of your choice, something like this and what I am going to do is, I am going to draw, I am going to trace this pose. So, what you want to do is put it under your tracing pad and the tracing pad could be anywhere from size 8.

5 to 11 or 11 by 14, I usually like to use 11 by 14 because it just gives me a lot more room. You want to use some tape and tape the figure down.

So, the first step, what you are going to do, let us start with the face first, let us outline the face, but here you can see, I am actually going to make it a little thinner than the actual size and I will go with a neck inside here because the real neck is actually here. But the fashion figure, you got to have it thin, so I went inside and here I did that just add, go around the shoulders, the arms, stay in just a little bit and this is the fingers. Now, with the waistline right here, this is the dress, you do not want to go there, you want to go right in and give it that curve, go down the knee. Then go down to the shoes. Notice how I am making everything look much thinner than it really is.

This is your bust area, right there, you will call a bow, you want to make sure it is thin. Then, here the shoulders and there and we will just hide the arms. The arm is here, but let us just hide it for now and then what we are going to do is follow the silhouette of the legs, there and then here the knees. I want to make it just a little bit thinner than the actual size. Make the shoes point here, because that will create illusion and then now, you have got her crotch right here and then you can shape up the waistline just a little bit, that is the waist. Collar bone and here, exaggerate a little bit if you want to, no rules.

I will just mark with them now like this and the eyes, we will just put a dot there, and I will show you how to do that later. This is how you trace the fashion figure. Then we will do this a little bit and now I am going to show you how to draw here clothes.
