Adding Flesh Tone to a Fashion Drawing
Tu-anh: Hi, my name is Tu-anh I am going to show you how to draw fashion for beginners and now I am going to show you how to apply flesh tone and facial features. Let us see, I am going to just kind of touch up a little bit, let us touch up on the hair, just a little bit more so that you have some definition. Alright, so, now with flesh tone, I am going to choose the color light peach and you do not want to color the whole fashion figure with flesh tone, you just want to have a hint of color because this is part of drawing very quickly, you do not want to spend an hour on a drawing.

So let us assume our light is coming from the left side. So, we are going to color flesh tone in, but we are going to do on the right side because the light is coming from the left. What you are going to do, is just highlight there and then do it down here just enough for how you want it, and right here on the right, always stay on the right because that is where the light is coming from, right again and then even here you can do just a little hint, okay. That is how, we apply flesh tone and now I am going to show you, how to put facial features and the eyes are always half way down the head, so this is the top of the head, this is the chin, the eyes will be on the half, so what you can do with the fashion eyes is you just want to draw something simple. You can do that or you can even do this and just keep it like that, and then what we are going to do is add a touch on the lips. You just want to add some color, okay, and then if you want some definition, you just highlight it and that is pretty much it, and that is how you draw flesh tone and facial features.

Flesh tone by Zulu500 at 08/08/10 03:24AM Flag
royalbball34-Those pens are pretty easy to find...I have the same ones which I got from a store called Michaels. But I didn't like them too much because when using a dark coloured pen, it causes the flesh tone to turn darker...I use deco peach and light peach for my fashion drawings.

the markers... by miss_summer at 12/15/08 11:57PM Flag
If it's not prismacolor, it might be pantone. There's another marker out there - copic, and they're alcohol based, less smelly, and come with a brush tip that makes beautiful rendering really easy. Good luck!

Marker by missmeghan at 06/07/08 01:47AM Flag
I'm pretty sure that the flesh tone marker Tu-ahn is using is the PrismaColor brand of markers. You can find them at most art and craft supply stores. The marker sets can be a bit on the expensive side, but the markers are also available individually. Hope that helps you!
Thank You! by royalbball34 at 05/17/08 03:50PM Flag
This video really helped me to begin to draw! It is very imformative and I like how she shows you step by step! But i have one question: What brand is that flesh tone marker because i am looking for one of them and i am not sure how to find one.
