Markita Aldridge-Woods: Well, that actually varies from person to person. Now, what might be best for me and what affects my score might be different from what actually affects your score, but overall you don t want to have just one type of credit. You don t want to have all credit cards, or all installment loans and installment loans are like car payments, student loans or mortgages; you really want to have a mix of both. So, if you are just starting out with credit, you want to maybe have a car loan with a few credit cards versus all credit cards or again all installment loans.
