Now, what might be best for me and what affects my score might be different from what actually affects your score, but overall you don t want to have just one type of credit. You don t want to have all credit cards, or all installment loans and installment loans are like car payments, student loans or mortgages; you really want to have a mix of both. So, if you are just starting out with credit, you want to maybe have a car loan with a few credit cards versus all credit cards or again all installment loans.
