<span><font><font>Brad received his Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Arkansas University, with a major in Psychology and a minor in Business.<span> </span>He furthered his education by graduating from the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University with a Master of Science degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, specializing in Mental Health.<span> </span>He has been involved in the financial aid and/or rehabilitation professions for the past 15 years.</font></font></span><span><font> </font></span><span><font>Brad, a Past President of the Virginia Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (VASFAA), currently serves as the Senior Associate Director of Financial Aid & Scholarships for James Madison University.<span> </span>Immediately prior to JMU, he served as an Assistant Director of the Financial Aid Office at Virginia Commonwealth University.<span> </span>Brad has presented numerous sessions at state, regional, and national conferences, and has served on a variety of association committees.<span> </span>In addition to speaking at professional conferences, Brad has conducted an abundance of workshops and presentations in non-conference environments, including teaching a credit based financial literacy course at JMU entitled “Dollars and Sense.”<span> </span>Many of the topics Brad’s speaks on include communication, leadership, values, financial aid policies and procedures, financial literacy, and saving for college.<span> </span>He has also facilitated strategic planning and value development retreats.</font></span>

Brad Burnett: Finding scholarships at your college is going to be vary from school to school. So, the best place to start is probably going to be financial aid office but it s important to understand each school is going to be different. When you start with the financial aid office hopefully you are able to get some assistance from there.

Brad Burnett: Finding scholarships at your college is going to be vary from school to school. So, the best place to start is probably going to be financial aid office but it s important to understand each school is going to be different. When you start with the financial aid office hopefully you are able to get some assistance from there. But they may not be the ultimate place you go. You also want to check with your academic department, there are some departments in the universities who award scholarships and are responsible for them all by themselves and financial aid office plays no role determining who gets that money. You may also want to check with the admissions office if you are perspective student because there are some admissions offices who award scholarships to new students. You may also want to check with specific programs on your campus. For ex: if you are an honors student and your campus has an honors program, you may want to check with the honors program to see if they offer any money. If you are an athlete, check with the athletics office. The bottom line is you have to do a lot of search and a lot of digging hopefully there is an office that you can start with to get a coordinated attack often times that s the financial aid office.
