Host: What is the Financial Aid Award Notice?

Brad Barnett: Once the financial aid office has completed their review of your FAFSA and we know what your Cost of Attendance, and we know what your Expected Family Contribution is and we have determined your eligibly and we have made an award, we are going to send you a notice. That s going to tell you, this is amount of financial aid, we are offering you. Now, some schools may send it to you by paper. More and more schools are moving to electronic mediums to send award notices, so you may find that it comes to you in very different formats from different schools, if you are a prospective student. So it s important to know that. Now, if you are returning student and you have just applied for financial aid all over again at your same school, hopefully you got the process down pack but if not ask your office.
