Host: Can you get a cold and the flu simultaneously?
Ronald Turner: Probably not. Your body s defenses are such that once you have a viral infection, the host defenses kind of mount a non specific response that prevents you from getting other viral infections and so, it is not likely that you would be able to get a cold and then simultaneously, acquire the flu.
