Host: What are the best strategies for getting more sleep?

Jeannette Bessinger: The best strategies for getting more sleep include creating a routine for your body so that it learns to begin to relax at night and it learns to wake up in the morning. If you said a specific consistent wake up time for yourself, it's a little bit earlier than typical, you make yourself a little bit more tired and it will be easier to fall asleep at the end of the day.

If at night, you reduce stimulants, meaning don t have coffee in the late afternoon or evening. Don t have a lot of soda in the late afternoon or evening and even things like exciting television programs or movies, if you can reduce that kind of stimulation a little bit an hour or two hours before it's time for you to go to bed your body will be able to gently begin to relax.
