Host: What can parents do to help safeguard their children while online? Nancy McBride: There are number of things parents and guardians could do to help safe their kids while they are online; setting some very practical rules and guidelines and making sure kids understand them, monitoring what their kids are doing online, supervising their activity, using softwares, if they are able to purchase that or download that, these are all good tools for parents or guardians to have at their disposal, but nothing beats that parental supervision or guidance to really know and be aware of who your kids are communicating with online? What they are doing online? What other access they may have to computers, whether it's a library or a school or a friend s house or their cell phone.
There are so many ways for kids to get online now that parents or guardian have to make sure that the rules and guidelines are clear, no matter how a child is using a computer or wireless device .
