Elleta Hansen: Hello, I am Elleta Hansen. I am a Registered Nurse and a Certified Tobacco Treatment specialist here at MediCorp Health System in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Here at MediCorp, we have a serious tobacco treatment program. My position here is to consult and educate all of our patients, who are admitted who have a history of tobacco use and want to quit smoking. I have worked with a number of patients here, as well as many patients over many years during my nursing carrier to help them understand the risk of smoking and to help them find a smoke-free life. Today, I would like to share some information with you, what is it like to be addicted to nicotine? what does it mean? What is second hand smoke? How do you quit smoking? What are the tools you need to quit smoking? What are the medications that are available help you? How do you prevent relapse? How do you get support? The fact that you have logged on today tells me you are interested in getting new information on quitting, so you are already on your path to a smoke free life.
