Host: Can pregnant women take anti-smoking medication?

Eletta Hansen: Well, certainly, we are all very vigilant about pregnant women not using any medications that are not absolutely necessary, but it is equally important that you not smoke during pregnancy because of the risk to the unborn fetus. Please talk with your physician, most physicians will much prefer as you use some type of nicotine replacement than to risk the health of the unborn by smoking.
