Host: Is it dangerous to smoke around children?

Eletta Hansen: Absolutely, because children's bodies are still developing, they are particularly vulnerable to the toxins and poisons from the cigarette smoke, both the second and the third hand smoke. At least 40% of all children under the age of 12 live in a home where at least one or more adult smokes. The more the adult and/or adult smoke, the greater the damage to the children. These children are in much higher risk for asthma, bronchitis, respiratory infection, wheezing, colds, pneumonia. Many parents who smoke do not realize the damage, the side smoke is doing to their children. So, this becomes the major part of our educational program here at Medicorp.
