Andy Segal: Hi, I am Andy Segal and today we are doing draw shots. This is a very pretty draw shot. It is called the Resistance draw shot. We have four balls lined up here and the rack is in its normal position where you would rack a game of 8-ball. we have the 4-ball here. I am going to shoot the cue ball into the 3-ball, the cue ball is going to shoot out here. I am going to hit with backspin and a little bit of Right-Hand English. The reason why it s called the Resistance draw shot is because all the weight of these three balls is pushing back against the cue ball, so when I shoot it, the cue ball comes back here, the weight of those balls still has an effect on the cue ball and it causes the cue ball to make a U- turn and come back around the rack and make the four. So like I said, these balls are lined straight up to the pocket. The cue ball is approximately even with this diamond and about even with the back of rack. The way, I am going to shoot is, I am going to hit it with Bottom Right-Hand English, if you think if this is the clock, Bottom English or Draw, is six o clock, I am going to it with a little bit of Right-Hand English, so say five o clock and the way I am going to aim is I am going to aim my cue stick straight through the cue ball, right to the centre of the two, so if the cue ball and the 1-ball were removed, my cue stick would go right through and hit the 2-ball right in the centre. So, here we go and that is the Resistance draw shot and do not forget, we have one more draw shot coming up in this series and it is real fancy shot so be sure to check it out.

I have been playing pool since 1983. I started performing trick shots in college, back in the late 80's, but I have been competing in trick shot competitions since October of 2002. I was invited to ESPN's Trick Shot Magic for the first time in October of 2003, when a good friend of mine Bogdan Wolkowski from Poland dropped out at the last minute due to an arm injury. Once I started competing in the trick More »
