Andy Segal: Hi, I am Andy Segal and here we are going to be performing Prop and novelty shots. This is the first one of four that we have. It is called bottoms Up. This is a game in nine-ball. The object in nine-ball is to make the nine-ball, but you have to hit the lowest ball first. So, we want to hit the one and make the nine to win the game. Now there is a couple of ways we can do that. We can jump the cue ball over the line and hit the one, we can bank the cue ball into this cushion or into that cushion and make the nine or we can try and curve the cue ball around and make the nine but you might be wondering, this is the prop/novelty series so where is the prop? Well, the easiest way to make the shot is to get rid of the cue ball and replace it with the beer glass which will be your prop.
What we are going to do is, we are going to hit this shot with the half a tip of the left side of left side beer glass English. What happens is that, it comes over here, the beer glass will then curve and make the combination, just like that. Now, in order to adjust, when you first sort out, you may hit the beer glass and instead of curving right into the ball, it may curve like this and miss the balls. All that means is you did not hit it hard enough. You only want to hit it slightly harder, you do not want to hit it too hard obviously because of the glass. If the beer glass comes way out and curves this way that means you hit it too hard. So what you want to do is you want to hit the glass not in the center, you have to hit it with a little bit to the left of center, just about 16th of an inch. What that does is instead of glass going straight, hitting it on the left side will push the glass like this, slightly so as it goes forward the momentum will carry it and then once it stops rolling the momentum will keep it going but then it will start to roll and curve and hit the one into nine. So do not go away because next shot coming up is the Hand Is Quicker Than The Eye.
