Andy Segal: Hi, I am Andy Segal and today we are performing some trick shots. Here we have a shot where we are going to make four balls in three pockets. We are going to make the 1-ball n the side pocket, the 2-ball in the corner pocket, the cue ball is then going to follow through here, make the three ball in that corner and the four in this corner. Now, the way you set this up, you put one ball here and you put it right here where the edge is aligned with this pocket point and the cue ball is one ball out and then you don t need this ball anymore.

Then you take the 1-ball and your lined it up not to the pocket, you lined it up for right about here, right where the point is and the 2-ball is the same thing. You don t line it up to the pocket, you line it up, right about here where the point is, the three and the four ball are near the spot. The four ball is right on the spot and the 3-ball is touching the 4-ball is lined up with the four not to the center but somewhere right around here to the point. What you do is you are going to shoot straight through the cue ball and you are aiming for a point just outside this three, right where my stick is and if you do that just right, the cue ball will catch the three on an angle and make those two balls flip as well. So, what happened on that first attempt, because I hit of three ball a little two full, the cue ball came through, actually hit the three ball too full, like that which caused the four ball to have not enough energy and it just barely rolled towards the pocket.

What I really want is, I want the Cue ball to hit the 3-ball here, so, the four ball gets more energy and moves towards the pocket quicker. So, in order to adjust is instead of aiming over here, I am going to adjust and aim out here what will cause the cue ball to be more left, and it will hit the three ball at more of an angle, which will give the four ball more energy to get to the pocket. Coming up next, the Rose Bud shot.

I have been playing pool since 1983. I started performing trick shots in college, back in the late 80's, but I have been competing in trick shot competitions since October of 2002. I was invited to ESPN's Trick Shot Magic for the first time in October of 2003, when a good friend of mine Bogdan Wolkowski from Poland dropped out at the last minute due to an arm injury. Once I started competing in the trick More »
