Andy Segal: Hi, I am Andy Segal and here I am going to show you, how to make the three ball in those two pockets. To make that little more difficult we are going to add up fourth ball here, that we are going to make. Now, what s going to happen is. I am going to shoot the cue ball into this cluster, the one ball is going to go in that pocket the two ball going to come over here in this pocket the three ball will follow the one into that pocket and the cue ball will come off of these two balls, travel this way and finally make the four on the side. Now, to set the shot up, the one ball is right on this spot. The two ball is touching the one ball and lines straight up, straight into this pocket. The three ball is placed right between the one and two and touching both. The four ball is hanging here right by the side pocket and the cue ball could really be placed anywhere but where I will like to put it is I like to put it, just about on this line, the first diamond line and about mid way between this diamond and the side pocket. Now, when we got the shot, we hit the cue ball dead center, on this shot, you need to use little Right-Hand English. If you think, if the cue ball is the clock, this being the center, this is 12 o clock, 1 o clock, 2 o clock, 3 o clock is Right-Hand English, right here.
When I hit the cue ball here instead of it, just rolling straight, it actually spins the cue ball like this. So, what I am going to do is I am going to hit the cue ball with the little bit of Right-Hand English and aim for the cue ball to just hit the two, very thin right before it hits the three, that s where I want to aim. Now, sometimes when you shoot this shot, the one ball may miss, the three ball may miss, the most common ball that misses is the three or the four. Now, when you miss the three, now, you are going to miss to the left or to the right of the pocket. If it misses to the left to the pocket what that means is you hit the cue ball with too much Right-Hand English. When you put Right-Hand English on the cue ball, it hits the three and spins the three to the left so, what you want to do is you want put Left English on the cue ball but still Right-Hand English, a little left so, it will spin it left and bring it in to the pocket.
If the three ball misses on the other side, chances are what happened is you hit two ball too thin, and the three ball to soon like that. You don t want to this to happen you want to aim so, the cue ball hits over here so, it will have time to go into the three and cut it into the pocket. The other ball that misses is the four that s the easiest ball to adjust for. If you miss the four and the cue ball rose like this or like this, if it comes over here what you need to do is need to bring the cue ball back so, let us do that, instead of hitting the cue ball with Right-Hand English, you hit it a little bit low, about an eighth of an inch lower and that will bring the cue ball back.
If the cue ball misses on this side, instead of hitting the cue ball with Right-Hand English, you aim a little higher about an eighth of an inch higher and that will push the cue ball forward. Coming up next is Just Showing Off shot.
