Gary Ryan Blair: Hi, my name is Gary Ryan Blair and we are talking about how to set and achieve a goal. Right now, we are going to put emphasis on the ten commandments of goal setting which is an implementation plan if you will. And, Im often asked throughout my life, whats one of the best books you have ever read and I have tendency of telling people that it's a cook book and sometimes, you get a strange stare, but let me explain to you what it means. A Cook Book to me, is probably the best success manual you will ever find in life for this reason. It guarantees a result,100% of the time and let me prove it to you. When you open up a cook book, the first thing you will see it's gorgeous four color picture. That represents final end result. That lets you know exactly what the outcome is going to be. So, the first step in a goal setting process to visualize exactly what it is, you looking for and thats the type of clarity that you want. Point number one, number two it is sequence. There is a step one, step two, step three, four and five. The same way, if you are going to learn a Tango or a Rumba or any type of dance, we are going open up a combination lock.
There is the sequence, if you have the steps but the sequence is incorrect, it's going to be very sloppy. Three, four and five, the ingredients are specific, they are measurable and they are time bound, they will tell you exactly what you need, they will tell you exactly what the measurable components is, whether it's a pinch of sugar, a table spoon, the teaspoon or so forth, and also the time and temperature.
So, now, the question really comes down to, if you would have followed that recipe to the tea and not deviate anyway shape or form, whats the likely that you would get a successful outcome. The answer is 100%. The only reason why you would get a different outcome is, if you were to monkey if you will, work with the recipe or the components. So, what I am going to do is, I am going to explain to you in the ten commandments of goal setting, the proper sequence and the actual activities that you need to go through in order to successfully set and achieve a goal.
