His personal philosophy can be summarized into two words: Everything Counts!™ He believes in sweating the small stuff, and teaches that every action, word and thought either moves you toward or away from your goals, mission and ultimate legacy; that every moment offers an opportunity for advancement or retreat.

When Gary speaks and writes, he does so from the heart, with warmth and humor. His unique gift is to speak to an audience and communicate with the heart of each person as if they were alone having an important, intimate conversation. A polished storyteller, he has a way of making the seemingly complex, easy to understand.

Gary, his wife Erika, son Ryan, and daughter Libby live in Tampa, Florida with their two wonder-dogs Beefcake and Pork chop.

Host: What is the first commandment of goal setting?

Gary Ryan Blair: The first commandment is thou shall be decisive and the reason for it is very simple. We hear throughout our lifetime, you have got to play the hand that life deals you and that is the another one of these old sayings that's not true. The fact is that the hand we are holding right now, is the hand that we dealt ourselves through a series of choices that we make throughout our lifetime.

It's imperative to realize that no action takes place, before a decision. That it's impossible for you to go on a destination somewhere to jump on an airplane, to get on a train, to really write a book or anything at all in your life or even go to a restaurant and order a meal and to enjoy the meal, until you make a decision.

So, it's imperative that everyone understands the decisiveness is so extremely important and it is a critical skill that everyone used to learn at an early age.
