His personal philosophy can be summarized into two words: Everything Counts!™ He believes in sweating the small stuff, and teaches that every action, word and thought either moves you toward or away from your goals, mission and ultimate legacy; that every moment offers an opportunity for advancement or retreat.
When Gary speaks and writes, he does so from the heart, with warmth and humor. His unique gift is to speak to an audience and communicate with the heart of each person as if they were alone having an important, intimate conversation. A polished storyteller, he has a way of making the seemingly complex, easy to understand.

How do you define a goal?
Goals expert Gary Ryan Blair explains how a goal is merely a time-bound end that can be achieved by directing effort.
Transcripts
Host: How do you define a goal?
Gary Ryan Blair: A goal is defined as a specific, measurable, time bound end towards which you direct effort until achieved. There is special emphasis on the words specific, measurable and time bound and just for the sake of this we will actually call that a stress test. So if we look at the garden(ph) priority way that most people try a goal about saying and achieving their goals, they usually say stuff I like I want to stop smoking, I want to lose some weight, I want to get in better shape and if we ask ourselves are those specific, measurable and time bound as stated and the answer is no on each one of those equations. So really in order to set a goal properly it needs to meet that specific criteria.
