Host: What is the most important piece of advice you can give me?

Ed Bales: Going to prison is a very difficult situation not only for the inmate, but also the inmate's family and friends. Over the years, the most common statement that I have heard is, do the time and don't let the time do you. Basically what that means is, try to make use of yourself in prison. Try to do good. Try to expand your horizons. Try not to get involved in negative play in prison and do the best you can to make it easy for yourself and for your family.
