Green beans with pearl onions is a classic holiday side dish. Our recipe uses balsamic glaze as a flavor twist. First, start by melting two tablespoons of butter in a large skillet. Add a 16 ounce bag of thawed pearl onions and cook until they brown. Now, add a tablespoon of balsamic vinegar, a quarter teaspoon of thyme, a quarter teaspoon of salt and eighth of a teaspoon of ground black pepper and cook stirring until the onions are glazed. Meanwhile, blanch the trimmed green beans in a large saucepan of boiling water until tender, about five minutes. Then drain and add to the skillet with the onions and toss to coat. Add another squash of balsamic and season with salt and pepper. Finally, off the heat. Finish off the green beans and onions with the splash of Bertolli, extra virgin olive oil.
