Potatoes-au-gratin are a favorite all season long. This creamy and cheesy casserole is a great side to any meal. First pre-heat the oven to 425 degrees, now lightly grease the shallow one and a half quart casserole dish with butter. Peel two pounds of Idaho potatoes and then using a mandolin over a glass bowl, slice the potatoes. Now grade one cup of gruyere or emmenthal cheese. Next, arrange the sliced potatoes and layer with melted butter and season with salt and pepper, and sprinkle with cheese, layer with melted butter, half a cup of half and half, and season with salt and pepper. Top with more grated cheese and a quarter cup of fresh bread crumbs. Now, bake the casserole covered for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, uncover and bake an additional 15 minutes or until the potatoes are tender, potatoes-au-gratin. Go to www.
