Host: Tomato Basil Crostini is a wonderful appetizer that brings the fresh flavor of summer into your Harvest Kitchen. First, preheat your oven to 400 degrees, cut one French baguette in third of an inch slices and place on a baking sheet, drizzle the bread with Bertolli extra virgin olive oil and season with salt. Mix it with your hands to blend the flavor, toast them for about 15 minutes or until golden in the oven. You will want to turn these once. While the bread toasts, chop three tomatoes and thinly slice six basil leaves. Now, layer each piece of toast with tomato, basil and shredded parmesan cheese, drizzle with Bertolli extra virgin olive oil and serve immediately. Tomato Basil Crostini, summer time goodness on toast.
