Host: Is there a difference between a Federal and State Pardon?

Ed Bales: Yes, there is a difference between the two. Federal Pardons usually go through the US Pardon Attorney which then have to be signed off by the President of United States. The State Pardon goes to the Governor's Office or the Governor's appointed board and has to be signed off by either of the two entities depending upon the State.
