Host: How can find shelters and co-shelters in my area?
Lesa Miller: Well, co-shelters will be established by the office of emergency management here in the city of Alexandria and in your own specific town wherever you are living, not until the actual disaster occurs and the reason being for that is at least in Alexandria is that we dont know what the nature of the disaster will be and so we can't establish actual specific sites that people should go to until after the disaster happens. Normally, if there is a pending bad weather we dont know where it is going to strike so we dont what shelters will be available and some things are just unforeseen and depending on the nature of the event. So people can go to one place for one disaster and there will be a whole another location for another disaster to follow so that is why. They will announce it and that is why it is important that you tune into your emergency alert system.
