    Learn to shoot correctly
I am currently helping my son teach his son Hunter how to correctly shoot a basketball. He is now 11 years old but we started teaching him when he was only 8 years old.We started by having him shoot a quick turnaround jump shot from under the basket and then as he got stronger each year we taught him how to simulate that turnaround while fronting the basket and then add longer shots gradually.

Arthur Jackson: Hi! I am Arthur Jackson from One on One Basketball. Today, we are going to talk about how to shoot a basketball. We are going to break down all the components, concentrating on form; we will talk about your stance; we will talk about hand placement; we will talk about the shooting motion, the follow-through; we will also get into some drills for you to work on. We will talk about free throws and most importantly, we will talk about some of the biggest mistakes that people make when they are shooting the basketball. We also want to remind you that one of the great things about this sport is that all you need is a ball and a basket, but you must also do a proper warm-up. So, whenever you are playing a basketball, make sure you do wear some loose fitting clothes and you get out and do proper exercise and stretching before you start playing. To just to tell you something about myself, I was a strictly a post player in high school, got to college and at 6'6, I was suddenly short with teammates that were 6'8, 6'10, 7 feet. So, I had to learn to play on the parameter and specifically learn how to shoot the ball. I ended up starting as a shooting guard in my senior year, whenever I played as professional as the shooting guard. So, I know that shooting is something everyone can better at; you just have to go on practice and work hard at it and you have to make sure you are disciplined about using the correct form. Just to tell a little but about One on One Basketball, it is a basketball instructional company. We have ten cities across the US, where we do all different types of programs, instructional programs for kids, after school programs, camps, clinics. We have also done programs internationally. I have spoken on shooting in parts of Eastern and Western Europe and Africa, Central America and throughout Australia. So, today we are go out and have fun and hopefully make you a better basketball shooter.
