Host: What are the most important don'ts when writing your profile for online dating?
Toni Coleman: The important don'ts are again, do not be negative. Do not be negative in the tone of your ad, do not say things like, "Gee, I can not believe I am doing this," or "This is the first time I have done this.
" There is defensiveness there. It is also insulting to the person who is reading the ad, like, "Okay, so, what is wrong with me that I am doing this?
" So, you don't want to include any of that. You do not want to make the ad too long and rambling. You do not want to repeat yourself again using a lot of adjectives, using a lot of generalities. You definitely, do not want to have grammatical or spelling errors and you do not want to post it without a picture because a vast majority of ads that do not have a picture; do not get looked at. People just click them off. So, those things are very, very important.
