Kathy Reily: Some of the signs and symptoms are with elevated blood sugar would be excessive thirst and that is thirst that is usually not quenchable. No matter how much you drink, you are still just as thirsty as when you started. Increased urination, which is going to the bathroom where it interrupts your schedule and it interrupts your sleep. You have to plan your day around the bathroom and you are getting up usually several times at night.

Some people will have blurry vision, they may think that their glasses no longer work but it is actually the elevated sugar covering the lens of the eye. Fatigue and tiredness is a common symptom of diabetes.
