Host: How can you manage stress?
Kathy Reily: For most people, stress will not be eliminated. Emotional stress, we just can't get rid of in our everyday life. So, our best hope is to be able to manage it and one of the best ways to manage stress is through exercise. Exercise by itself is going to help lower blood sugar but exercise will also help to lower levels of stress hormones in our body and that is actually what helps to lower the blood sugar as there will be less sugar coming out of the liver as a response to those stress hormones.
Other ways we can manage stress might be to have some quiet time, meditation time, Guided Imagery, listening to music, reading, but I think exercise is probably one of the best ways to manage it.
