Speaker: Do men always want younger women?

Gloria MacDonald: Women asks me this all the time, do men always want younger women and the answer is well, men very very often say there are looking for a woman who is 10, 15, 20 years younger than they are, especially, if the man goes through a divorce and is just starting to get out there dating again, they are very often say this. Men usually do end up with women who are younger than them, but not necessarily that significant of an age span, not necessarily 10, 15, 20 years younger. So, as women, what we need to do is we need to look our absolute best at whatever age you are. Do whatever you can possibly do to look as vibrant and youthful and beautiful as you can look. No, I am not saying you have to go to extremes of all kinds of cosmetic surgery and everything like that, but make sure you are on a healthy diet; make sure you are taking care of your skin; use a touch of makeup to look your absolute best. Now, very often women are frustrated because it seems like men are only looking who is gorgeous and young and they are looking for that trophy wife; but we can't hold that against men. They can't help it. Believe it or not, this is subconscious and it comes from millions of years of evolutionary psychology and it doesn't matter how old the man is; it doesn't matter if he is 75, 80-years-old and he is not thinking of having children. Men are wired to look for a woman who would be a good mother, who would procreate well and again it doesn't matter how old the man is and if at a conscious level he is not considering having children at all, but he is still looking for three key factors; one is, youth, one is, beauty and one is, a healthy look, because at a subconscious level, those are the three things that indicate to a man that this person would, that this woman would have good offspring, would be healthy and offspring would be healthy and would survive. So again millions of years of evolutionary psychology, men have no idea that that's why they are looking for beauty, youth and healthiness, but that's why they are doing it. So you know what women, don't hold it against men; don't go around singing, oh, all they are doing is looking for a trophy wife. Work with it. It's a law of nature that we can't do anything about. So do your best; don't fight against the law of nature, work with it.
