Scott Elbertson: Hi, I am Scott from the Automotive Service Garage in Alexandria, Virginia and I am showing you how to maintenance your car's battery. Now, that we have got our battery in place we have made sure that nothing is interfering. We are going to test it. By testing it, we are going to start your car. Remember, before we start the car we want to make sure that the brake is applied firmly, the parking brake or emergency brake is installed and the car is imparked. With those things done now, we are going to start the car. Our car started without hesitation, nothing abnormal, warning lights have gone out on the dash. There is no lights on that you should be concerned about. It tells you that your battery installation is correct. You have no battery light on or alternator light on that may indicate that there is a problem with your installation. There doesn't seem to be anything to worry about. It looks like we have done a good installation.

Next, I am going to show you how to clean your car's terminals.
