Chris Bunch: Hey, this is Chris Bunch from Alpine Ski Shop in Sterling, Virginia and we are going to be going over accessories that you will need when skiing. One of the things that you are going to need is a set of ski poles.

How to measure for the correct ski pole is done this way. Turn the ski pole upside down. This is the basket you put your hand underneath it. Put your arm out, flex your knees. What you are going to want is about a 90 degree angle with your arm. That tells you the correct length on the ski pole. Another accessory that you would like to have is a helmet. Helmets are nice, they are warm, they protect your head from anything from falling or somebody maybe even running into you. You want the helmet to fit nice and snug on the head and notice that on top of the helmet I have a set of goggles.

What the goggles do is provide protection from the sunlight. They also keep your face nice and warm. On the back of the helmet is a goggle strap that will hold the goggles in place. One of the key things that you will need when skiing is a good pair of ski boots. If your boots don't fit comfortably it doesn't matter what ski on this wall you choose you are not going to have a good day. So, make sure that you have a good pair of fitting ski boots and to help ski boots fit better you are going to need a good pair of ski socks. Don't wear cotton, don't wear those big, bold hiking socks. A good pair of thin ski socks that help lick all the moisture and make the boot fit better. These are some of the accessories that are needed for when you go skiing. Next, we are going to go over how to choose the correct snowboard.
