Sarah Meyer Walsh: Hi! I am Sarah Meyer Walsh of Haute Papier and I am showing you how to make wedding invitations. The next thing you want to do is to line the envelope when you have beautiful calligraphy on the outside of an envelope, it is just a really nice touch to have the inside be just as beautiful. So what you will need to do is to decide which paper you want to line the envelope with and I am going to choose this paper because it is only used on the back here. So the guest might not see it when just looking at the front of the invitation. So when put together with all of these it really creates a nice look. So what you all need to do in order to create the envelope liner is you can either buy a template like this from your local craft store or you can actually cut apart in envelope. Basically, what you would do is you would just take, apart the envelope, cut off the edges, so that it would be this shape and you cut right along the glue line and that would give you a template that would be the equivalent of this, just like that. So the envelope was not shaped the same as a liner, you may have bought at the craft store; you could do that to get a liner for your envelope. Then what we are going to do is just go ahead and position this on the paper, again figuring out how to get the most of your paper by laying them all out and then trace them on the outside and you would trace the whole sheet before you start cutting.

With some papers you can cut to the time, generally, when using a fancy paper like this, I like to cut one at the time just to make sure that I am getting straightedges and not wasting any of the more expensive paper. So I am just cutting out the envelope liner and I would suggest lining the R.

P envelope too. It is just a nice added touch. Once you have your envelope, liner, template all cut out like this, you will take the envelope and position the liner into the envelope and go ahead and slide it all the way in making sure that it centered properly and then use the glue to adhere the liner to the envelope. What I like to do is just fold the liner down and run a small line of glue right along the inside of the part that you look at the envelope and then again gently push down to adhere the liner to the envelope. This paper tends to be a little bit crinkly at times, so just give it few seconds to make sure that it is actually drying in the position that you want it to. Then you can go ahead and fold the envelope close to give it that crease and there you have it. We have just created a beautiful wedding invitation that you can easily recreate at home.
