Senior Vice President of eHealthInsurance Bob Hurley explains the basics of buying health insurance and why young people should get coverage.
Transcripts
Bob Hurley: I am Bob Hurley and I am from eHealth Insurance and we are a hi-tech company that built a website for individuals and families to come to learn about health insurance and compare health insurance plans and actually health insurance right online. We are talking today about topics in health insurance in general. We are covering a number of topics and one of them is that a large segment of the uninsured population and in fact, about 56% of the uninsured population are between the ages of 18 and 34 years old and that's a staggering statistic for most people because these young people are actually ones that are probably, not only qualify for health insurance easily because they are typically, young and healthy but they can also get it for extremely reasonable prices. A 26 year old person typically can get coverage for something in the range of $60-$75 depending on the state that they live in and the plan that they choose and yet many of these young people go without coverage. So we are going to talk about that today.
