Host: Why they are uninsured?

Bob Hurley: There are many reasons why people go uninsured. One of the interesting facts about the uninsured is about 10 million out of the 47 million people that are uninsured in this country actually make more than $75,000 a year. What's interesting about that is those folks most likely can afford to buy a health insurance and they simply choose not to do so for many different reasons and I don't think any of us have a good understanding why they choose not to do, but obviously, they are choosing not to afford a health insurance. There is another large segment that simply cannot afford it. They truly don't make enough money to pay for their health insurance coverage and many of these people need some kind of help, some kind of subsidy from the Government. Then as I was mentioning before there are many, there are young people that simply don't believe they need coverage. They are young, they are healthy, they are active, they don't see the value of buying health insurance because in some states it can be very, very expensive.
