Host: What is an FFS?

Bob Hurley: An FFS plan, there are so many acronyms and by the way, if you ever want to get the definitions of all these I don't know website, you can actually go on to our website and you can click on our dictionary basically, of terms and you can see some of these definitions. But an FFS is Fee For Service plan and basically, those are your old indemnity plans where you go and you seek your services and you can go anywhere you want and then claims are submitted it to the insurance company and then they reimburse you, pay some whatever schedule of negotiated rates that they have for your particular plan.

Typically, Fee For Service plans are the most expensive kind of insurance and that's simply because there is the least amount of control over where you go to get your care and the process is that you have you follow in order to access your care. So they typically, are more expensive health insurance plans and again, there are not many of those available in the individual family market today. The vast majority of plans that are offered in the individual family market today are the PPO plans.
